Kathryn & Tim's Simple & Classic Army Navy County Club Wedding - Washington, DC and Northern Virginia Wedding Photography
Where do I even begin with Kathryn and Tim? They’re one of my favorite couples of all time and I’m sure you’ll understand why as you continue reading (and view their photos below)!
I’ve known Tim for a little over ten years. We met while working at the same local business in Great Falls. It was before I had gone full-time with wedding photography and we both had very similar senses of humor and were die-hard fans of the show, The Office. Our families also attended the same gym, so we all knew each other fairly well and would make sure to say hi and connect every time we saw each other. I became fast friends with Tim’s mom (we are both bubbly, smiley, extroverted blondes), and I would joke with her all the time about how we needed to find Tim the right girl so I could photograph his wedding.
Well, fast forward a few years and Tim began dating a seriously amazing person named Kathryn, whose family also attended our gym! When I learned Kathryn and Tim got engaged, I of course joked around that I could photograph the wedding per usual. But I definitely did not expect them to reach out and officially hire me! It was honestly like watching a dream come true and I really could not have been more thrilled to be part of their wedding day.
Kathryn and Tim’s wedding was in August, but somehow we miraculously lucked out with a cooler day than normal! Even though most of the festivities were indoors at National City Christian Church and Army Navy Country Club, we got to take advantage of the cloudy skies and cooler weather for portraits at both locations. One of my favorite outdoor photos was of Kathryn and Tim’s confetti exit from the church. Kathryn had found this gorgeous, eco-friendly white confetti for guests to throw in the air as she and Tim processed down the front steps. I couldn’t believe how much confetti I saw fly through the air! At one point you couldn’t even see Kathryn and Tim behind all of it, but of course they soon emerged and looked incredible with all of the confetti flying around them.
If you want to be completely jaw-droppingly shocked at how amazing Army Navy Country Club looked after Caroline Dutton Events and Amaryllis Floral & Event Design took over the ballroom, move full steam ahead! I’ve photographed several weddings at Army Navy Country Club and I have never, ever seen the ballroom there look this stunning. They truly brought to life what Kathryn, Tim and their families had envisioned in terms of the most elegant white, green and gold infused ballroom. Everything sparkled and glistened in a way that perfectly emulated the way Kathryn and Tim looked on their wedding day. It really was like a fairy tale!
I could go on and on about Kathryn and Tim’s wedding day, but I won’t. Instead, just enjoy the photos and make sure to take a look through the team of incredible vendors involved at the end who made this day over-the-top incredible!
